Taurus is the Fixed Earth sign, symbolizing forests and unplowed pastures. It is Feminine, and because it is ruled by the planet Venus, it has feminine aspects, despite being seen as a male animal. Some call it “a bull among the flowers.” Venus is the ancient Roman goddess of love, beauty, and luxury. Taurus is one of two signs Venus rules, the other being Libra.

Because of the Venusian rulership, Taurus people are passionate, æsthetic, musical, and pleasure-loving — but because Taurus is the Bull, they are also stubborn, and work hard to accumulate real estate and garden land. Their worst flaw is acquisitiveness, which may be the result of an exaggerated desire to surround themselves with beauty at all times.

If You Are a Taurus

If you were born between April 21 and May 21, Taurus is your sign. You are stubborn, self-reliant, intuitive, generous, and a lover of beauty. Your plain talk and unaffected sincerity win you friends. Your artistic nature is balanced by practicality; you work well with your hands and may enjoy nature, gardening, and the arts.

Because the most important things necessary for your happy existence are beauty, harmony, and pleasure, be sure to make time in your life for music and art. Your best alliances will be with people born in the signs of Pisces and Scorpio. The former will be helpful to you; the latter may prove dynamic partners in the fields of finance and real estate. Spring is your best season; Friday is your best day.

The Taurus People in Your Life

These people, like the Bull, have great strength and will power; they can be coaxed but never driven. Once their minds are made up, persuasion and arguments are useless. They do not anger quickly, yet they become very furious when they do. They display wonderful skill in developing and bringing to completion the ideas of others. Being warm-hearted and passionate, they often become strongly attached to sex. They are so clinging and lavish with their affection that many of them are led astray, and they may be more successful in money matters than in love affairs. Their first marriage usually takes place early in life and is often a hasty or secret one.
